My first cousin, his son, my 3rd great grandfather and a cousin. No one knows why or where the name came from. I have 3 cousins named Early. All in Texas via Alabama and Louisiana. They are Sauney and Early Alexander. People wanted to think of him as "crazy" because he did not take any OF IT from anyone. He was skilled, he had land, and some money, and he could read and write. From what I've heard, Sawnee was a mixed breed.
