Harold Lee Gaunt, son of Joseph Harley Gaunt and Settie Inez Horn, was born December 11, 1910 in Jay County, Indiana.  He is my 5th cousin 1x removed via the Gaunts.

Elsie Berezniak, daughter of Sam Berezniak and Anna Perlman (originally Chana Perlmutter), was born December 11, 1926 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.  She is my 2nd cousin 2x removed on my Nowicki line through the Perlmutters.

Rosemary Ann Trindade was born December 11, 1931 in Santa Clara County, California.  She was married to Jack Lowell Gaunt, son of Walter Everett Gaunt and Norma Marguerite Prusso, who is my 4th cousin 2x removed via the Gaunts.

James Frederick Browning was born December 11, 1954 in Harris County, Texas.  He is married to Linda Jean Bowen, daughter of Robert Francis Bowen and Jean Drake, who is the 1st cousin of my half-sister Laurie Sellers.

Lorna Matilda Rayside was born December 11, 1956 in Arouca, Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago.  She is the mother of my sister-in-law Sandra Nicole Farrier.

Joseph Gilbert Bonifas, son of Joseph W. Bonifas and Delores Gilbert, was born December 11, 1937 in Indiana.  He is my 6th cousin 1x removed on my Gauntt line through the Bonifases.

Kevin George Tucker, Jr. was born December 11, 1964 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.  He is the third husband of my not-quite-cousin Angela Williams.

Luis Casas Szocherman was born December 11, 1972.  He is my cousin in an as yet undetermined way.

Tommy Lucas was born December 11, 1990.  He is the 2nd cousin 1x removed of my half 1st cousin Albert Lore.

Bertram Lynn Sellers, Jr., son of Bertram Lynn Sellers, Sr. and Anna Gauntt, and Mary Lou Jocelyn Bowen were married December 11, 1956 in Miami, Dade County, Florida.  Lynn is my father (and Mary Lou is my "pre-mother").

Carol Alene Gauntt, daughter of James Kirkland Gauntt and Newita Wanda Scott, and Charles Edward Rundell were married December 11, 1974 in Carson City, Nevada.  Carol is my 1st cousin 1x removed on my Gauntt line.

Death

Simeon Purdy died December 11, 1890 in Burlington, Burlington County, New Jersey at the age of 82.  He was the husband of Mary A. Gaunt, daughter of Isaac Gaunt and Susannah Webb, who is my 1st cousin 4x removed via the Gaunts.

Cecelia Keselman died March 30, 2013 at the age of 67 in Florida, possibly in Pembroke Pines, Broward County.  She was married to Samuel M. Socherman, son of William Socherman (above) and Anna Tania Jakowszycka, who is my 4th cousin on my Nowicki line through the Szochermans.

John Joseph Preisner III was born March 4, 1995 in San Diego, San Diego County, California.  He is the grandnephew of my aunt Mary McSstroul.

Joseph Whitacre and Anna Gaunt, daughter of Jacob Gaunt and Hannah Holmes, were married on March 4, 1824, possibly in Ohio.  Anna is my 1st cousin 5x removed.

Samuel M. Gaunt, son of John Gaunt and Elizabeth Kirby, and Caroline Horner were married on March 4, 1841, possibly in New Jersey.  Samuel is my 3rd cousin 4x removed.

George W. Sellers, son of John Wengard Sellers and Mary Melissa Conkle, and Annetta R. Lowry were married on March 4, 1878 in Auglaize County, Ohio.  George is my 4th cousin 3x removed.

Rothell Leaton Thurman and Bertha May Gaunt, daughter of William Alvin Gaunt and Mamie B. Mitchell, were marrked on March 4, 1930, probably in California.  Bertha is my 4th cousin 2x removed.

Deaths

Jeremiah Mock, son of John Mock and Mary Brown, died March 4, 1863 at the age of 34 in Belleville, Knox County, Ohio.  He is my 4th cousin 4x removed.

Elizabeth Jaudon Sellers, daughter of David Wampole Sellers and Anna Frances Jaquett, died March 4, 1922 at the age of 60 in Shanghai, China.  She is my 4th cousin 3x removed.

Clara Alice Flynn, who was born on March 4, 1923 (see above), also died March 4, 1923 in Burlington County, New Jersey.

So there are a couple of interesting things to note on today's list.  First, I have the same number of items for each category:  four each birrths, marriages, and deaths.  Second, Fred McStroul was an all-February kind of guy:  He was born (the 8th), married (the 14th), and died (today) in February, and those dates are in numerical order.

Elizabeth M. Eben was born February 15, 1905 in Maryland.  She was married to Francis M. Elder Stirling, son of George Howard Stirling and Mary Sellers, who is my 5th cousin 2x removed.

Melville Everett Vaughn, son of John E. Vaughn and Bertha Florence Gaunt, was born February 15, 1913 in Lemoore, Kings County, California.  He is my 4th cousin 2x removed via the Gaunts.

Esther Garfinkel, daughter of Morris Garfinkel and Mirka Ajzner, was born February 15, 1936 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.  She is my 3rd cousin once removed on my Meckler line through the Garfinkels.

Rosemary Yates, daughter of Charles Yates ahnd Grace Allen, was born February 15, 1949.  She is my 5th cousin once removed on my Gauntt line through the Allens.

Joseph Gaunt, son of Hananiah Gaunt and Ann Ridgway, and Elizabeth Borton, daughter of John Borton and Elizabeth Lord, were married on February 15, 1762 at Evesham Friends in Burlington County, New Jersey.  They are my 5th-great-grandparents.

William Gaunt, son of James Gauntt and Amelia Gibson, and Margaret Albright were married on February 15, 1889 in Evesboro, Burlington County, New Jersey.  William is my great-granduncle.

Russell Lloyd Gray and Martha Lorraine Lucas, daughter of Cecil Deacon Lucas and Nora Elizabeth Eckman, were married on February 15, 1957 in Mount Holly, Burlingotn County, New Jersey.  Martha is the 1st cousin once removed of my 1st cousin Albert Lore.

James Owen Gaynor, Jr., son of James Owen Gaynor and Marie Hennessey, and Ruth Heard Hunt were married on February 15, 1958, possibly iin Ray Brook, Essex County, New York.  James is the 1st cousin once removed of my half-sister, Laurie Sellers.

Deaths

Eliza Almira Heath, daughter of John Timothy Heath and Mary Etta Smith, died February 15, 1975 at the age of 88 in Glens Falls, Warren County, New York.  She is the maternal grandaunt of my aunt Mary McStroul.

Fred Lincoln McStroul, son of Leo Martin McStroul and Anna Krebs, died February 15, 1977 at the age of 65 in Calabasas, Los Angeles County, California.  He is the paternal uncle of my aunt Mary McStroul.

Russell Simcox, son of Warren Simcox and Elva Rodenbaugh, was born January 4, 1899.  He was married to Eleanor Malinda Eckman, the sister of my grandaunt Bertha Poinsett Eckman and granduncle Edwin Bunting Eckman.

William Ledger Allen, son of Clarence Allen and Agnes Viola Ledger, was born January 4, 1923 in New Jersey.  He is my 5th cousin on my Gauntt line through the Allens.

Judith Lorene Gaunt, daughter of Daniel Gaunt and Doris L. Gilmore, was born January 4, 1940 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.  She is my 6th cousin.

Rebecca Gaunt, daughter of Isaac Gaunt and Susannah Webb, died January 4, 1869 at the age of 53, probably in New Jersey.  She is my 1st cousin 4x removed.

Millard Votaw, son of Daniel W. Votaw and Louisa Gaunt, died January 4, 1946 in Indiana at the age of 76.  He is my 3rd cousin 3x removed.

Events in My Family Tree: January 1

For the new year I thought I would become better acquainted with the individuals in my family tree database by following the vital events in their lives on the calendar.  Every day I plan to post the births, marriages, and deaths that fell on that day.  As I am doing research for (very) extended family members, not everyone in my database is actually related to me.

I have already discovered that finding this information directly in Family Tree Maker, my primary family tree program, does not work well.  The first results for a search for "January 1" or "1 January" are years with no months or dates.  I looked at the index of names, which shows birth and death dates, but there's apparently no way to export that information.  So I saved a GEDCOM file and imported it to Reunion.  The latter gives much better results than FTM but still isn't perfect — it returns those people with the correct month, but it doesn't seem to be able to also find the specific date.  No matter, it's a vast improvement.

Florence Walton, daughter of Jerome B. Walton and Susan Sellers, was born January 1, 1868, in Union Township, Auglaize County, Ohio.  She is my 4th cousin 3x removed.

Charles Cooper Stradling was born January 1, 1895 in Texas, Middlesex County, New Jersey.  He was the husband of my paternal grandmother, Anna Gauntt.

Thomas Daniel Swain and Rachel Anna Armstrong were married on January 1, 1912 in Burlington, Burlington County, New Jersey.  Rachel is my great-grandaunt and the sister of my great-grandmother Laura May Armstrong.

Hattie Lorena Fuller, daughter of Joseph L. Fuller and Sarah R. Weaver, died January 1, 1914 in Warrensburg, Warren County, New York at the age of 26.  She was the grandmother of my aunt Mary.

Cecil Deacon Lucas, son of John Deacon Lucas and Idella May Nixon, died January 1, 1998 at the age of 91.  He was married to Nora Elizabeth Eckman, the sister of my grandaunt Bertha Poinsett Eckman and granduncle Edwin Bunting Eckman.

Fred Adams, son of John White and Alma Adams, died January 1, 2000 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio at the age of 76.  He is the granduncle of my not-quite-cousin Angela Williams.
