Events in My Family Tree: May 13

My brother's birthday is six days after mine, but growing up it was almost like having the same birthday, because my mother always did a combined birthday party for both of us.

Births

Henry Bullock Heath, son of Henry Heath and Eliza Bullock, was born May 13, 1846 in Thurman, Warren County, New York.  He is the maternal great-granduncle of my aunt Mary McStroul.

Elizabeth Heath, daughter of Henry Heath and Eliza Bullock, was born May 13, 1851 in Thurman, Warren County, New York on her brother Henry's birthday.  She therefore is the maternal great-grandaunt of my aunt Mary McStroul.

David Clinton Gaunt, son of Jacob Gaunt and Melvina F. Bennett, was born May 13, 1856 in Jay County, Indiana.  He is my 3rd cousin 3x removed.

Mary E. Shemeley was born May 13, 1871 in Southampton Township, Burlingotn County, New Jersey.  She was married to Allen Severs Easlick, son of Jonathan Easlick and Susannah Sever, who is my 2nd cousin 2x removed on my Gauntt line through the Easlicks.

Wilhelmina Martin was born May 13, 1888 in Pennsylvania.  She was married to Leidy Hunsberger, son of Joseph M. Hunsberger and Anna Amelia Heckler, who is my 5th cousin 2x removed on my Sellers line through the Hunsbergers.

Barbara June Springfield, daughter of Robert Springfield and Helen Laverta Slentz, was born May 13, 1932 in Oklahoma.  She is my 6th cousin on my Gauntt line through the Slentzes.

Helen Eunice Bohn was born May 13, 1936 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.  She was married to Roger Lee Sellers, son of Loren Floyd Sellers and Dorothy Eilene Crawford, who is my 6th cousin once removed.

Barbara Baker, daughter of Sidney Baker and Adele Garfinkel, was born May 13, 1958 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  She is my 3rd cousin once removed on my Meckler line through the Garfinkels.

Janet Beth Podolsky was born May 13, 1961 in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey.  She is my 3rd cousin on my Gordon line.

Rita Lynn Swaim was born May 13, 1965.  She is my 5th cousin 2x removed on my Gauntt line.

William Randall Ellis was born May 13, 1977 in Oklahoma.  He is my 2nd cousin once removed on my Gauntt line.


Marriages

Abraham Kulp and Barbara Sellers, daughter of John Leonard Sellers and Barbara, were married on May 13, 1794, probably in Pennsylvania.  Barbara is my 1st cousin 6x removed.

Almost 200 years later, another Sellers girl got married.  Kenneth Charles O'Brien and Carol Beth Sellers, daughter of Bertram Lynn Sellers and Anita Clarice Loveman, were married on May 13, 1979 in Lake Worth, Palm Beach County, Florida.  Carol is my paternal aunt.


Deaths

John Fox, son of John Fox and Catherine, died May 13, 1841 at the age of about 23, possibly in Germantown, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.  He is my 3rd-great-granduncle.

Rachel Anna Armstrong, daughter of Joel Armstrong and Sarah Ann Lippincott, died May 13, 1928 at the age of 49 in Norfolk City, Virginia.  She is my paternal great-grandaunt.

Margaret Adeline Williams died May 13, 1942 at the age of 58 in Jackson Township, Wells County, Indiana.  She was married to David Wise Gaunt, son of Arthur Lee Gaunt and Rachel Lavinia Stutsman, who is my 4th cousin 2x removed.

Walter Everett Gaunt, son of James Knox Polk Gaunt and Sarah Naomi Boone, died May 13, 1966 at the age of 69 in Santa Clara County, California, possibly in Los Gatos.  He is my 3rd cousin 3x removed.

Peter J. McGovern died May 13, 1967 at the age of 83 in Woodside, Queens County, New York.  He was married to Mary F. Gaynor, daughter of James P. Gaynor and Mary Guynan, who is the great-grandaunt of my half-sister Laurie Sellers.

Owen M. Walker died May 13, 1999 at the age of 87 in Greensburg, Decatur County, Indiana.  He was married to Marguerite Maureen Thackeray, daughter of Logan Thackeray and Virginia Steele, who is my 5th cousin 2x removed on my Gauntt line through the Thackerays.

Lois Jean Hutson, daughter of Clifford Ellsworth Hutson and Alta Ada Gipson, died May 13, 2008 at the age of 76, possibly in Indiana.  She is my 6th cousin once removed on my Gauntt line through the Hutsons.
