Mary Ann McGowan was born December 25, 1805 in Pennsylvania.  She was married to Joseph Gantt, son of Joseph Gaunt and Mary A. Lobaugh, who is my 1st cousin 5x removed via the Gaunts.

Pauline E. Smoot was born December 25, 1827 in Virginia.  She was married to Redden N. Gaunt, son of Joseph Gaunt and Phoebe Emily Severn, who is my 2nd cousin 4x removed via the Gaunts.

Wilma Elizabeth Norris was born December 25, 1912 in Orestes, Madison County, Indiana.  She was married to Neil Gaunt Clark, son of Oren Wilson Clark and Anna G. Gaunt, who is my 4th cousin 2x removed via the Gaunts.

Irene Bassie (Bessai?) Dubensky was born December 25, 1920, possibly in Ohio.  She was the third wife of Harry Herman Mackler, son of Morris Mackler (originally Moishe Meckler) and Minnie (originally Mushe) Zelda Nowicki, who is my granduncle.

Gene Paul Gaunt, son of Clarence Meridith Gaunt and Mary Grace Stewart, was born December 25, 1931 in California.  He is my 4th cousin 2x removed via the Gaunts.

Melanie Amron, daughter of Eli Morton Amron and Alice Gold, was born December 25, 1952 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.  She is my 4th cousin on my Nowicki line through the Amrons.

Edward James Ellis, Jr. was born December 25, 1977.  He is my 2nd cousin 1x removed.

Marriages

Nathan Gaunt, son of Samuel Gaunt and Achsah Taylor, and Sarah Coles were married December 25, 1823 in Swedesboro, Gloucester County, New Jersey.  Nathan is my 2nd cousin 5x removed via the Gaunts.

Richard Dunstan, son of James Dunstan and Maria Hilton, and Jane Coleclough were married December 25, 1833 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.  They are my 3x-great-grandparents.

James Andrews and Mary D. Gaunt, daughter of Hananiah Selah Gaunt and Mary Elizabeth Rose, were married December 25, 1841 in Tuckerton, Burlington County, New Jersey.  Mary is my half 2nd-great-grandaunt.

Francis D. Matthews and Susannah H. Gaunt, another daughter of Hananiah Selah Gaunt and Mary Elizabeth Rose, were married December 25, 1876, probably in New Jersey.  Susannah is also my half 2nd-great-grandaunt.

Floyd Richard Williams, son of Preston Frank Williams and Priscilla Crawford, and Susie Lee Adams, daughter of Alma Adams, were married December 25, 1927 in Muscogee County, Georgia.  They are the paternal grandparents of my not-quite-cousin Angela Williams.

Deaths

Isaac Gaunt, son of Hananiah Gaunt and Rebecca Mulliner, died December 25, 1864 in Tuckerton, Burlington County, New Jersey at the age of 77.  He is my 3rd-great-granduncle.

James H. Fuller, son of Joseph E. Fuller and Lorina G. Tripp, died December 25, 1929 in Stony Creek, Warren County, New York at the age of 80.  He is the 2nd-great-granduncle of my aunt Mary McStroul and her sister Anna McStroul, and the 3rd-great-granduncle of my not-quite-cousin Angela Williams.

Janet Edna Weaver, daughter of James Henry Weaver and Ada Adelle Allen, died December 25, 2005, possibly in Whiting, Ocean County, New Jersey, at the age of 75.  She is my 5th cousin on my Gauntt line through the Allens.

Joseph W. Bonifas, son of Charles Dennison Bonifas, Sr. and Georgia Grace Gaunt, died December 25, 2011 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana at the age of 80.  He is my 6th cousin via the Gaunts.

Apparently the date of October 26, or maybe just the number 26, is significant for my Garfinkel cousins, whether they know it or not, because I had several events for them on today's list, far more than usual.

Elizabeth Kirby was born October 26, 1792 in Salem County, New Jersey.  She was the wife of John Gaunt, son of Samuel Gaunt and Achsah Taylor, who is my 2nd cousin 5x removed via the Gaunts.

Beulah Anna Elizabeth Bozarth was born October 26, 1908 in Vincentown, Burlington County, New Jersey.  She was the wife of Vinton Thompson Easlick, son of Allen Severs Easlick and Mary E. Shemeley, who is my 3rd cousin 1x removed on my Gauntt line through the Easlicks.

John Glendon Vaughn, son of John E. Vaughn and Bertha Florence Gaunt, was born October 26, 1910 in Lemoore, Kings County, California.  He is my 4th cousin 2x removed via the Gaunts.

Bella Raber was born October 26, 1928 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.  She was the wife of Harry Garfinkel, son of Eliezer Louis Garfinkel and Doba Ajzner, who is my 2nd cousin 2x removed on my Meckler line through the Garfinkels.

Ellen Hazel Duskin was born October 26, 1944 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.  She is the second wife of Murray Lederman, son of Gabriel Murray Lederman and Anna Gordon (originally Chantse Gorodetsky), who is my 1st cousin 2x removed on my Gorodetsky line.

Larry Garfinkel, son of Israel Garfinkel and Marsha Gerb, was born October 26, 1952 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  He is my 3rd cousin 1x removed on my Meckler line through the Garfinkels.

Brian Howard Eckert, son of Roy Howard Eckert and Mary Elma Easlick, was born October 26, 1954 in Mount Holly, Burlington County, New Jersey.  He is my 4th cousin 1x removed on my Gauntt line via the Easlicks.

Stephen David Rudin, son of Raymond Harold Rudin and Ruth Garfinkel, was born October 26, 1958 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  He is my 4th cousin on my Meckler line via the Garfinkels.

Michael Reed was born October 26, 1963.  He is my 5th cousin 2x removed.

Eli Morton Amron, son of Louis Amron and Fannie Perlman (originally Perlmutter), and Alice "Honey" Gold were married October 26, 1946 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.  Eli is my 3rd cousin 1x removed on my Nowicki line via the Perlmutters.

Clarence Newcomb Lore and Dorothy Mae Sellers, daughter of Bertram Lynn Sellers, Sr. and Elizabeth Leatherberry Sundermeier, were married October 26, 1951 in Elkton, Cecil County, Maryland (or at least that's what Dottie told me once).  Dottie is my half-aunt on my Sellers line.

Ernest Alan James and Mary Lou Jocelyn Bowen, daughter of Francis Maria Bowen and Louise Elsie Gaynor, were married October 26, 1969 in Elkton, Cecil County, Maryland.  Mary Lou is the mother of my half-sister Laura Sellers.

Harvey Joseph Gauntt, Jr., son of Harvey Joseph Gauntt and Jane Marie Conway, and Glenda Rae Hughart were married October 26, 1986 in Escambia County, Florida.  Harvey is my 2nd cousin 1x removed on my Gauntt line.

Deaths

Mary Ann Dale died October 26, 1945 in Jay County, Indiana at the age of 88.  She was the wife of Ross B. Gaunt, son of John B. Gaunt and Priscilla Dye, who is my 3rd cousin 3x removed via the Gaunts.

Meyer Harold Birnboim, son of Menashe Birnboim and Sophie Garfinkel, died October 26, 1996 in Troy, Rensselaer County, New York at the age of 66.  He is my 3rd cousin 1x removed on my Meckler line via the Garfinkels.

Mirta and Max

I learned via the New York City marriage index, which became available through the efforts of Brooke Schreier Ganz and Reclaim the Records, that my 4th cousin Max Szocherman married Mirta Mata in New York (probably Manhattan) in 1959, 59 years ago.  (Max and I share 3rd-great-grandparents Avram Yaakov Nowicki and SIrke.)  After consulting with other cousins on that side of the family,  I have been told that the wedding was about October 2, so I'm commemorating it today with photos that were shared with me by those cousins.

Max and Mirta were both born in Cuba, Max probably in Guanabacoa and Mirta in Habana.  I know the Szocherman family had already been traveling to and from New York prior to Castro coming to power, but they apparently moved there permanently after that event.  Max and Mirta likely knew each other already in Cuba.

Several interesting coincidences for this date.  There are three Elizabeth Macks — one each for a birth, marriage, and death — and they're all different people.  There's a man and his great-grandson having the same birthday.  And two sisters married on the same day, 38 years apart.

Elizabeth Mack, daughter of Alexander Mack, Jr. and Elizabeth Neis, was born May 2, 1763, probably in Germantown, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.  She is my 5th-great-grandaunt.

Mary Gaunt, daughter of John Gaunt and Jean Satterthwaite, was born May 2, 1769 in New Jersey.  She is my 1st cousin 6x removed.

Clarence Allen, son of Cyrus Kunze Allen, Jr. and Clara Barton Shinn, was born May 2, 1900 in New Jersey, probably in Burlington County.  He is my 4th cousin once removed on my Gauntt line through the Allens.

Dorothy Mae Gaunt, daughter of Harvey Joseph Gaunt and Jane Marie Conway, was born May 2, 1920 in Haddonfield, Camden County, New Jersey.  She is my 2nd cousin once removed.

Eli Morton Amron, son of Louis Amron and Fannie Perlman, was born May 2, 1925 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.  He is my 3rd cousin once removed on my Nowicki line through the Perlmans.

Julius Minuk was born May 2, 1929 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.  He was married to Esther Golub, daughter of Harry Golub (originally Golubchik) and Dora Sorin, who is my 3rd cousin once removed on my Meckler line through the Golubs.

Cheryl K. Elkins, daughter of Marvin Elkins and Ethel R. Gardner, was born May 2, 1958 in Los Angeles County, California.  She is the 1st cousin once removed of my aunt Mary McStroul.

Paul Richard Morlack was born May 2, 1983.  He is my 5th cousin 2x removed on my Gauntt line and was born on his great-grandfather Clarence Allen's birthday.

Marriages

John Holsinger and Elizabeth Mack, daughter of William Mack and Agnes Gantz, were married on May 2, 1797, possibly in Bedford County, Pennsylvania.  Elizabeth is my 1st cousin 6x removed.

George B. Replogle and Polly Mack, daughter of William Mack and Agnes Gantz, were married on May 2, 1835, also possibly in Bedford County, Pennsylvania.  Polly married on her sister's anniversary, and since she is Elizabeth's sister , she is also my 1st cousin 6x removed.

Deaths

Walter Everet Votaw, son of Daniel W. Votaw and Louisa Gaunt, died May 2, 1874 at the age of 8 months in Wabash County, Indiana.  He is my 3rd cousin 3x removed on my Gauntt line through the Votaws.

Elizabeth Mack, daughter of Alexander Mack and Catherine Baker, died May 2, 1881 at the age of 82, probably in Stark County, Ohio.  She is my 3rd cousin 5x removed.

Joe Gordon, son of Victor Gordon (originally Gorodetsky) and Esther Leah Schneiderman, died May 2, 1955 at the age of about 62 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.  He is my maternal great-grandfather.

Isaac Pollack died May 2, 1969 at the age of about 77, probably in New York.  He was married to Bessie Brainin, daughter of Morris Brainin and Rose Dorothy Jaffe, who is my great-grandaunt.

Wilma E. Norris died May 2, 2004 at the age of 91 in San Diego, San Diego County, California.  She was married to Neil Gaunt Clark, son of Oren Wilson Clark and Anna G. Gaunt, who is my 4th cousin 2x removed.
