Clarence Eugene Easlick, son of Allen Severs Easlick and Mary E. Shemeley, was born December 31, 1912 in New Jersey, probably in Burlington County.  He is my 3rd cousin 1x removed on my Gauntt line through the Easlicks.

Carol Alene Gauntt, daughter of James Kirkland Gauntt and Newita Wanda Scott, was born December 31, 1940 in San Bernardino, San Bernardino County, California.  She is my 1st cousin 1x removed on my Gauntt line.

Marriages

Henry C. Buckley and Ella Gaunt, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Gaunt and Elizabeth K. Frazer, were married December 31, 1868, probably in Burlington County, New Jersey.  Ella is my 2nd cousin 3x removed via the Gaunts.

John B. Gaunt, son of James Gauntt and Amelia Gibson, and Sarah V. Woolston were married December 31, 1876 in Mount Holly, Burlington County, New Jersey.  John is my great-granduncle.

William B. Gaunt, son of Abner H. Gaunt and Emeline Severs, and Fannie Rebecca Hall were also married December 31, 1876, but I don't know where.  It was likely New Jersey or Pennsylvania.  William is my 1st cousin 3x removed via the Gaunts.

William Lippincott Gaunt, son of Benjamin Franklin Gaunt and Mary A. Woolman, and Clara M. Taggart were married December 31, 1921, probably in Burlington County, New Jersey.  This William is my 3rd cousin 2x removed via the Gaunts.

Gabriel William Lederman and Anna Gordon (originally Chana Gorodetsky), daughter of Avigdor Gorodetsky and Esther Leah Schneiderman, were married December 31, 1924 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.  Anna is my great-grandaunt.

Jose "Uchey" Yngber and Edie Ida Jakowszycka, daughter of Aaron Samuel Jakowszyck and Findle "Novinska" (probably Nowicka?), were married December 31, 1939, probably in Cuba.  Edie is likely my 2nd cousin 2x removed on my Nowicki line.

Philip Charles Alexander and Jessie Utley Easlick, daughter of Vinton Thompson Easlick and Beulah Anna Elizabeth Bozarth, were married December 31, 1951 in Burlington County, New Jersey.  Jessie is my 4th cousin on my Gauntt line through the Easlicks.

Melvin Cecil Gordon, son of Alexander Gordon and Roslyn Rubin, and Marcia Urrutia were married December 31, 1982 in Dade County, Florida.  Melvin is my 1st cousin 1x removed on my Gordon line.

Joel Ian Katz and Leala Rona Birnboim, daughter of Chaim Avraham Birnboim and Shirley Hirt, were married December 31, 1989 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  Leala is my 4th cousin on my Meckler line through the Birnboims.

Sam Brozovsky was born December 13, 1926 in Ottawa, Ontario Canada.  He was the husband of Ann Kardish, daughter of Dovid Kardish and Etta Gorodetsky, who is my 1st cousin 2x removed on my Gorodetsky line.

Nathanial Barker, son of Walter Barker and Carrie Bell Crawford, was born December 13, 1938 in Georgia, probably Muscogee County.  He is the 1st cousin 3x removed of my not-quite-cousin Angela Williams on her Crawford line.

Rhoda Brozovsky, daughter of Sam Brozovsky and Ann Kardish, was born December 13, 1954 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  She is my 2nd cousin 1x removed on my Gorodetsky line through the Kardishes.

Alexis Ann Omichinski was born December 13, 1982.  She is my 4th cousin 1x removed.

Ian Elliot Kardish Levitan was born December 13, 1990.  He is my 3rd cousin.

James Pharo, son of Gervais Farrow and Elizabeth Hawkesmore, and Ann Murfin, daughter of Robert Murfin, were married December 13, 1673 in Bawtry, Yorkshire, England.  They are my 8th-great-grandparents.

Deaths

Earl Morris Hutson, son of Bateman Hutson and Lorinda Brown, died December 13, 1947 in Brookston, White County, Indiana at the age of 57.  He is my 5th cousin 2x removed on my Gauntt line through the Hutsons.

Anna Tania Jakowsczyka, daughter of Aaron Samuel Jakowsczyk and Findla Nowinska (probably Nowicka), died December 13, 1980 in Miami Beach, Dade County, Florida at the age of about 73.  She is probably related to me herself (possibly as a 1st cousin 3x removed), but she was the wife of William Socherman (originally Welwel Szocherman), son of Chanania Szocherman and Rojzla Perlmutter, who is my 2nd cousin 2x removed on my Nowicki line through the Perlmutters.

Sarah Clarice Higgins, daughter of Ervie Oscar Higgins and Elizabeth Opal Gaunt, died December 13, 2007 in California, possibly in Butte or Yuba County.  She is my 5th cousin 1x removed via the Gaunts.

Elvira Frazer was born November 27, 1931 in Port Norris, Cumberland County, New Jersey.  She is the wife of Paul M. Brainin, son of David Harry Brainin and Rebecca Harbour, who is my 1st cousin 2x removed on my Brainin line.

Ken Garfinkel, son of Israel Garfinkel and Marsha Gerb, was born November 27, 1949 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  He is also (see above) my 3rd cousin 1x removed on my Meckler line through the Garfinkels.

Lois Suzanne Gauntt was born November 27, 1970.  She is my 2nd cousin.

Lisa Katherine Gaunt was born November 27, 1974.  She is my 6th cousin 1x removed.

Matthew Russell Ellis was born November 27, 1997.  He is my 2nd cousin 1x removed.

Aden Sharma was born November 27, 2006, I believe in Mumbai, India.  He is the grandnephew of my aunt Mary McStroul and the 1st cousin of my not-quite-cousin Angela Williams.

Bruce Philip Alexander, son of Phillip Charles Alexander and Jessie Ozley Easlick, and Marilyn W. Ramsey were married November 27, 1976 in Middlesex County, Connecticut.  Bruce is my 4th cousin 1x removed on my Gauntt line through the Easlicks.

Deaths

Ann Elizabeth Zelley, daughter of Ridgway Zelley and Rebecca Gaunt, died November 27, 1860, probably in Burlington County, New Jersey, at the age of 24.  She is my 2nd cousin 3x removed via the Gaunts.

William Jefferson Fuller, son of Joel C. Fuller and Rachel, died November 27, 1902, probably in Thurman, Warren County, New York, at the age of about 52.  He is the 1st cousin 3x removed of my aunt Mary McStroul and the 1st cousin 4x removed of my not-quite-cousin Angela Williams on their Fuller line.

Mirta Mata died November 27, 2004, probably in Broward County, Florida, at the age of 68.  She was the first wife of Max Socherman, son of William Socherman (originally Welwel Szocherman) and Anna Tania Jakowszycka, who is my 4th cousin on my Nowicki line through the Szochermans (and to whom I might also be related through the Jakowszyckas, but I'm still working on that).

Harry Mark Gaunt, Jr., son of Harry Mark Gaunt and Sarah Gayle Kirkendall, died November 27, 2009 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana at the age of 85.  He is my 5th cousin 1x removed via the Gaunts.

William Schneiderman, son of Joseph Schneiderman and Mollie Bernstein, and Mary were married November 4, 1991.  Bill is my 2nd cousin 2x removed on my Schneiderman line.

Deaths

Robert King died November 4, 1954 in Upatoi, Muscogee County, Georgia at the age of about 67.  He was the second husband of Priscilla Crawford, daughter of Henry Crawford and America Brooks, who is the great-grandmother of my not-quite-cousin Angela Williams.

Jane Lochrie died November 4, 1995 in Millbury, Worcester County, Massachusetts at the age of 91.  She was the wife of Charles E. Wickham, son of Charles E. Wickham and Martha Elizabeth Bowen, who is the 1st cousin 2x removed of my half-sister Laura Sellers on her Bowen line.

Harvey Joseph Gaunt, Jr., son of Harvey Joseph Gaunt and Jane Marie Conway, died November 1, 1998 in Escambia County, Florida at the age of 75.  He is my 2nd cousin 1x removed via the Gaunts.

John Joseph Preisner, Jr. died November 1, 1999 at the age of 26.  He is the nephew of my aunt Mary McStroul and her sister Jean McStroul and the 1st cousin of my 1st cousin Todd Meckler and my not-quite-cousin Angela Williams.

Denzel Rowland Earehart, son of Ira Delbert Earehart and Doris Lavina Rowland, died November 1, 2010 in Lima, Allen County, Ohio at the age of 89.  He is my 5th cousin 1x removed on my Gauntt line via the Rowlands.

George Trombulak, Jr. also died November 1, 2010, possibly in Burlingame, San Mateo County, California, at the age of 88.  He was the husband of Elizabeth Ann Funk, daughter of Earl G. Funk and Hazel Pauline Gauntt, who is my 3rd cousin 1x removed on my Gauntt line.

Mitchell Yngber was born August 15, 1969.  He's in my family tree, and I'm pretty sure we're cousins, but I haven't figured out yet how we're related.  I think I will find a connection through the Jakowszyckas.

Well, I certainly had fun, but it was hard to keep up, and it took a lot longer than just one hour.

This past Wednesday I posted a photo on my blog for Wordless Wednesday:

I then shared the link to my blog post on my Facebook page, as I routinely do.

But this week was different, because the photo generated a thread with more than 200 comments (the last time I counted) among my group of cousins!  The conversation went steadily from Wednesday to this morning.

When we finally had discussed this photo to death (well, we're not entirely finished), some people posted other photos with related people, and then we commented up, down, and sideways on them.  And those discussions helped revise our opinions about this photo.

And among all those comments were so many genealogical tidbits!  Names, dates, family stories.  Every time a new comment went up, I had to chase it down to make sure I didn't miss gleaning new pieces of information.  (Which makes the fact that Facebook is doing a very poor job of sending out notifications when messages have been posted extremely annoying at the moment.)  So I've been compiling all these little factoids and cross-referencing them to make sure the info is as consistent as possible.  I've spent more like four hours just today on it.

And these were very helpful discussions.  The one focused on this photo, for example, entirely changed our hypothesis of who is in the photo.  We started out thinking the women were the four sisters of the family who had emigrated from Europe.  By the time discussion had slowed down, we had come to the conclusion that theory was completely wrong.  We're not sure, but currently we're leaning to the four being the last sister who did emigrate along with the three who did not.  This may have been their last photo together before one of them left.

Mary F. Gaynor, daughter of James P. Gaynor and Mary Guynan, was born May 17, 1886 in New York, possibly in Manhattan, New York County.  She is the maternal great-grandaunt of my half-sister Laurie Sellers.

Larry Stevens, son of Sam Berezniak and Anna Perlman, was born May 17, 1929 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.  He is my 3rd cousin once removed on my Nowicki line through the Perlmans.

Eli G. Budwick was born May 17, 1940 in Cuba.  He is married to Loli Yngber, daughter of Jose Yngber and Edie Ida Jakowszycka.  Edie's sister Anna Tania Jakowszycka married William Socherman (originally Szocherman), son of Chananian Szocherman and Rojzla Perlmutter, who is my 3rd cousin once removed on my Nowicki line through the Perlmutters, but there's a very good possibility that Edia and Anna's mother was a Nowicki, so I am probably related to them also.

Janis Susan Brainin, daughter of Harold Leon Brainin and Ruth Pauline Schwartz, was born May 17, 1955 in Bronx, Bronx County, New York.  She is my 2nd cousin once removed.

Reed Allen Gershwind was born May 17, 1964 in Manhattan, New York County, New York.  He is my 3rd cousin on my Nowicki line.

Kathy Legg was born May 17, 1967 in Walnut Creek, Contra Costa County, California.  She is married to Ronald Gershwind, who happens to be Reed's brother, so he is also my 3rd cousin on my Nowicki line.

Sara Kardish was born May 17, 1983 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  Sara is another 3rd cousin, but on my Gorodetsky line.

Tawnee Jessica Wolford was born May 17, 1984 in Madera County, California.  She is married to Jason Dale Preisner, who is the nephew of my aunt Mary McStroul.

Brian John Omichinski and Sandra Rosanne Rudin, daughter of Raymond Harold Rudin and Ruth Garfinkel, were married on May 17, 1980 in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.  Sandra is my 4th cousin on my Meckler line through the Garfinkels.

Mary A. Lobaugh died May 17, 1840 at the age of 64, possibly in Newport, Perry County, Pennsylvania.  She was married to Joseph Gaunt, son of Joseph Gaunt and Elizabeth Borton, who is my 4th-great-granduncle.

Hannah Ann Peters died May 17, 1852 at the age of 26 in Burlington County, New Jersey.  She was married to Benjamin Selah Gaunt, son of Hananiah Selah Gaunt and Mary Elizabeth Rose, who is my 2nd-great-granduncle.

Elmer Gaunt, son of Samuel Gaunt and Ann Horner, died May 17, 1894 at the age of 69 in Pilesgrove, Salem County, New Jersey.  He is my 3rd cousin 4x removed.

Mrs. Ella J. Williamson died May 17, 1915 at the age of about 52 in Riverside, Burlington County, New Jersey.  She was married to Isaac S. Williamson, son of Amos Williamson and Rebecca Armstrong, who is my 1st cousin 4x removed via the Armstrongs.

Jonathan Benjamin Easlick, son of Allen Severs Easlick and Mary E. Shemeley, died May 17, 1976 at the age of 81, possibly in Mount Holly, Burlington County, New Jersey.  He is my 3rd cousin once removed on my Gauntt line through the Easlicks.

Jerry A. Eckman died May 17, 1999 at the age of 53, possibly in New Jersey.  He is the 1st cousin once removed of my 1st cousin Albert Lore.

Lawrence Franklin Mawhorr, son of William G. Mawhorr and Rosetta Sellers, died May 17, 2000 at the age of 86, possibly in Theodosia, Ozark County, Missouri.  He is my 6th cousin once removed via the Sellerses.

Carol Anne Young, daughter of Walter Thomson Young and Gladys Ella Easlick, died May 17, 2003 at the age of 63, possibly in Daytona Beach, Volusia County, Florida.  She is my 4th cousin once removed on my Gauntt line through the Easlicks.

Photo Bonanza

After a false start occasioned by her computer crashing, I have connected in earnest with the cousin who found me because I posted the family names I am researching.  She has lots of family photos and has been generously scanning and sending them to me.  I am so excited to have faces to put to so many of the names in my family, and I was able to send her a photo of her great-great-grandmother, which she did not have.  She has also identified some of the photos I have without names.  I need to start scanning more and see who else she can recognize!  I already posted one of the photos she sent me for this past Wordless Wednesday, but wanted to share more.  These are some of my favorites. **doing the happy dance**
